Security Personnel Adequacy

We are expecting an estimated attendance of 5,000 to 7,000 people throughout the day. The peak attendance is anticipated to be during the headlining band's performance in the late afternoon, potentially reaching around 4,000 to 5,000 people in the main stage area at that time.

This is a community music festival. It features several local bands performing on a main stage, with various food trucks and craft vendors set up around the park. There will also be a dedicated children's activity area with bouncy castles and face painting. It's a family-oriented event, but we anticipate a significant number of young adults and teenagers attending as well.

Our primary concerns are potential overcrowding, especially around the main stage and food areas, leading to stampedes or minor injuries. Given the nature of the event, we're also worried about alcohol-related disturbances, potential theft of personal belongings, and the possibility of unauthorized individuals attempting to access restricted areas (like backstage). We also have a concern about managing large queues at the restrooms and food vendors, which can lead to frustration and potential conflict. Finally, with it being an outdoor event, we need to be prepared for any unexpected weather changes that might cause panic or require evacuation.

We've hired a total of 15 security personnel. 5 are designated as 'roaming patrols' who will be circulating throughout the venue. 3 are stationed at the main entry/exit points, responsible for crowd flow and initial screening. 2 are assigned to the main stage area, focusing on crowd management and artist protection. 2 are specifically tasked with monitoring the family-friendly zone and the perimeter. The remaining 3 are 'support staff' who can be deployed to any area as needed, including assisting with lost children, minor first aid, or responding to incidents. Their primary responsibility is to maintain order, deter disruptive behavior, and respond to emergencies.

The venue is an outdoor park with a main stage area, several food vendor zones, and a designated family-friendly zone. The total area is approximately 5 acres. There are two main entry/exit points, one at the north end and one at the south end, both with vehicle access. Internally, there are several pathways that could become congested, particularly between the main stage and the food court, and near the restrooms, which are located in a somewhat confined area. We also have a smaller, secondary exit near the west perimeter that's primarily for emergency use but could be a bottleneck if not managed.
